Dow has announced plans to expand its alkoxylation capacity in the US and Europe in 2024 and 2025. The investments are backed by supply agreements with customers and are being made to meet 10-15%/year growth in end markets including home and personal care, industrial and institutional cleaning, pharmaceuticals and crop protection.
Precise volumes were not disclosed but the company said that, combined with expansions announced in Louisiana and Spain in 2019 that are due to come onstream this year, these project will add up to a 70% increase in capacity on 2020. Together with other efficiency projects this is expected to generate more than $150 million in run-rate EBITDA by 2025.
