Solenis has relocated its Pulp Centre of Excellence from the US to a new facility in Paulínia, Brazil. The new, 500 m3 centre is located alongside its existing Paulínia Technology Centre. The move reflects how “Latin America has become a global hotspot for pulp production”, Solenis said.
“This centre strengthens our ability to collaborate directly with producers, accelerate innovation cycles and develop next-generation technologies that help pulp manufacturers worldwide improve productivity, cost position and sustainability,” said Christoph Adami, VP of innovation.
The Pulp Centre of Excellence supports full-process coverage from wood handling to cooking, brownstock washing, bleaching, recausticising and refining. Current development areas include a talc-free pitch control platform, pitch-monitoring equipment, a first-of-kind additive designed to improve cooking yield and a silicone-free defoamer family that is already used in Brazil.
