Free online platform for cosmetics ingredients launched

An industry initiative started by Clariant has launched a new Internet platform called Chemberry, which enables chemical buyers to easily find the ingredients they need. Initially covering personal care, the free- of-charge search service will be expanded later across multiple industry sectors.

The platform operates out of its own organisation unit strictly separated from other business activities to ensure confidentiality, compliance and neutrality of the platform.

Cosmetic giants team up on alternative skin test

The US Institute for In Vitro Sciences (IIVS) is teaming up with chemicals giant BASF and cosmetics company Givaudan to validate an improved skin sensitisation reactivity method to address the needs of toxicologists and regulators.

BASF and Mazza Innovation partner on plant extracts

Canadian botanical extractions company, Mazza Innovation, has signed an exclusive, long-term agreement to supply global chemicals giant, BASF, with specific plant extracts to develop new solutions for cosmetic applications. The company produces the plant extracts using its patented PhytoClean technology, a water-based extraction method that concentrates bioactives in an eco-friendly way.
