Symrise has agreed to sell its US-based terpene ingredients business, AmeriTerpenes, to private equity investor Mutares. The company said that this will enable it to “further sharpen its portfolio and increase management focus on its core growth platforms”, while supporting the aim to “deliver sustainable profitable growth, operational excellence, and disciplined capital allocation”.
AmeriTerpenes, which has already been carved out operationally, supplies renewable terpene ingredients into the flavours and fragrances and industrial markets from sites in Jacksonville, Florida and Colonels Island, Georgia. It will become part of Mutares’ Chemicals & Materials segment
Terms are not being disclosed but Symrise said the transaction is expected to result in a non-cash disposal loss amounting to a mid-double-digit million-euro impact, which will appear in its 2026 financial statements.
