Evonik is to invest $100 million over the next five years to modernise key equipment at its API facility at the Tippecanoe Labs site in Lafayette, Indiana. This will include large reactors and other critical systems, with the aim of enhancing reliability and enabling greater automation.
The company said that this is being done to meet growing demand for US-based CDMO services for drug substance as it balances its global asset footprint. It described Tippecanoe site as a “bedrock” of its small molecule drug substance network which also makes intermediates and excipients.
