UK-based William Blythe has announced a “combination” with Metals & Additives (MAC) in the US. William Blythe said that this deal “creates a unique, scaled international speciality chemicals group focused on regulated and mission-critical applications”. No financial details were disclosed.

MAC has four divisions: Polymer Additives Group, Addenda, OMNI Oxide and Reedy Chemical Foam. The combined entity will hold strong positions in flame retardants, smoke suppressants, catalysts, absorbents, foam technologies, polymer additives and other high-performance inorganic chemicals. The founders of MAC, Gregg Bennett and Mark McCaughey, will remain in place.
