WeylChem Elgin site to cease production

WeylChem is to discontinue production at its site in Elgin, South Carolina. The company said that was part of a comprehensive review of its operational structure and is based on changed market conditions and a strategic focus on the long-term sustainability of its production structure across the world.

WeylChem said that it is working with employees and local partners on the transition. It stressed that North America remains a strategically important market and this is not a withdrawal. To this end, it has established a US sales office, headed by Cameron Young, its sales and new business development director.
