MFG acquires testing firm

US custom manufacturing firm MFG Chemical has acquired Masters Company from private ownership. Terms were not disclosed and the deal has already been completed. Masters is based in Chicago and is active in the water treatment market, mainly in North America, though it has some international customers. It supplies reagents and test kits, carries out custom blending and manufacturing, makes private label products and offers analytical services for industrial water treatment.

It was all business at the Specialty & Agro Chemicals America conference on 19-22 June, in the new venue of Savannah, Georgia. Exhibitors said that there was “a high level of energy at the show,” and this extended to the programme presentations.

Four SOCMA awards for MFG

MFG Chemical, a speciality and custom chemical manufacturer, has won four awards for plant safety and performance improvement at two of its three sites in Dalton, Georgia, from SOCMA.

The Kimberly Park plant won the Silver Award for EHS&S Planning & Operations, having completed a major improvement project to facility process equipment, piping and equipment safety systems which it said substantially improved process controls and automation; redundancy in process cooling water; and, the mitigation of risk from runaway reaction, among other things.
