Bain wins race for Porus

Private equity firm Bain Capital has acquired Porus Laboratories of Hyderabad, India, subject to regulatory approval. Financial terms were not disclosed but values in the region of $300-365 million were mentioned during the process. CVC Capital and Advent International had also been interested in Porus, according to reports.

Solenis to acquire Diversey

Speciality chemicals manufacturer Solenis has agreed to buy cleaning, infection prevention and hygiene giant Diversey. The $4.6 billion all-cash deal should be completed in 2H, subject to approval by Diversey shareholders, and will remove Diversey from public ownership. Both boards have backed it.

Lonza to sell Specialty Ingredients business

Following a long period of speculation, Lonza has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Lonza Specialty Ingredients (LSI) business to private equity firms Bain Capital and Cinven for CHF 4.2 billion in order to focus entirely on healthcare. The deal is expected to close in 2H, subject to customary closing conditions.

US buy for Italmatch

Italmatch Chemicals, a speciality chemicals company focused on additives for water and process treatment, oil and gas, industrial lubricants and plastics, has followed up previous acquisitions with Water Science Technologies (WST), which supplies chemicals and blends.

Italmatch to buy BWA Water Additives

Genoa-based Italmatch Chemicals, a speciality chemicals company focused on additives for water and process treatment, oil and gas, industrial lubricants and plastics, has signed an agreement to acquire BWA Water Additives, which is also active in the oil and gas, industrial water treatment and desalination industries.
