Univar Solutions, the world’s second largest chemicals distributor is reorganising itself along similar lines to those already followed by the largest, Brenntag. This will align it around “distinct, customer-focused segments”, each with their own CEO and operating “with increased autonomy, accountability, and agility, enabling sharper focus on customer needs, market dynamics and innovation”:
- Chemical Distribution & Services (Robert Craycraft), covering the more commoditised businesses
- Ingredients + Specialties (Nicholas Powell), which will supply speciality chemicals and ingredients to targeted industries, supported by its global network of formulation labs and test kitchens
- ChemPoint (Chris Kelley), which will focus on new opportunities for growth via on-demand creation and multi-channel digital marketing campaigns
Current CEO David Jukes will become executive chair, where he will work with the board and senior leaders “to provide strategic oversight, ensure continuity, execution and support long-term enterprise priorities”. In addition, EVP and CFO Nicholas Alexos will transition to becoming a member of the board.
