Novopor buys FAR Chemical

Novopor Advanced Science, a Bain Capital company which is based in India and is active in performance chemicals and material science, has acquired FAR Chemical from CPS Performance Materials Group. Terms were not disclosed.

The deal is being described as “a key milestone in Novopor’s strategy to build an integrated specialty chemical platform that delivers end-to-end solutions to customers ranging from early-stage process development to commercial scale manufacturing”. 

Florida-based FAR Chemical is known for its expertise in complex chemistries. It offers custom and complex speciality chemicals for such end-used markets as electronics, aerospace and defence, coatings and adhesives. 

This continues Novopor’s expansion in the US following on from the acquisition of Pressure Chemical, a Pittsburgh-based specialist in speciality chemicals and high-pressure chemistry, last year.  It has also since opened a new pilot plant at Visakhapatnam, India, to bridge early-stage R&D with commercial-scale production in agrochemicals, performance materials and speciality chemicals.
