Esteve CDMO expands US facility

Esteve CDMO, the CDMO arm of a Spanish pharmaceutical company, has begun a $15.5-million investment to enhance production capabilities and associated space at the facility in Morton Grove, Illinois, that it acquired in July 2025. This will be completed within 2026.

The investment includes adding powder transfer systems and distillation tanks to reactors, plus jacket insulation and a single thermal fluid circuit to enhance thermal management and broaden their operational range to between -15 and +140ºC and simplify validation under GMP conditions. The site will also implement cleanroom and ancillary equipment upgrades including a SCADA system to monitor, control and record manufacturing processes in real time and install uninterruptible power supply systems for the QC laboratories.
