Chemservice buys EBRC

Chemservice Group, a supplier of regulatory compliance services to the chemical industry and related regulated sectors, has acquired EBRC Consulting. This is the company’s first acquisition since Waterland Private Equity invested in it in July 2025. Terms are not being disclosed.

EBRC offers services in the assessment and management of regulatory matters, substance evaluations, dossier preparation, risk assessments, (eco)toxicology, and product safety. It has particular expertise in complex testing and evaluation processes for industrial chemicals and metals, plant protection products, biocides, food additives and cosmetics. EBRC’s Hanover site, the brand and the existing management team led by Dr Rudiger Battersby (right) will all remain in place.

According to Chemservice CEO Dieter Drohmann (left), this acquisition strengthens it in regulatory compliance, product safety, toxicology, risk assessment, European chemicals regulation and consortia management. It will also create one of Europe’s leading specialist providers in this market. Further acquisitions, as well as organic growth, are planned.
