The first of four scheduled modules has begun operations at Neuland Laboratories’ commercial-scale peptide manufacturing site at Hyderabad, India. It has 750L of solid-phase and 6250L of liquid-phase peptide synthesis, housed in different suites enabling parallel operations, plus two 60 cm and one 45 cm DAC columns, and 100L and 200L lyophilisers. The total investment was $30 million.
Neuland said that the module will also facilitate flexible programmes from small‑scale to multi-kilo quantities for complete peptide APIs, including complex and long‑chain peptides. Foundational infrastructure for the second module is already in place and Neuland expects to begin work ahead of the original timeline once customer requirements are finalised.
