Actylis emerges from former Aceto

A new player has emerged in the manufacture and sourcing of raw materials and ingredients for the life sciences and speciality chemicals markets, in the form of Actylis.

Speaking at a press conference to launch the new brand identity, CEO Gilles Cottier described Actylis as “an entirely new and transformed company designed for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century”. It has “a uniquely flexible portfolio of GMP and non-GMP materials”, he added, and can provide “a unique hybrid of manufacturing and sourcing to best meet your needs”.

Aceto consolidates six acquisitions

Aceto has consolidated and integrated its six manufacturing-related acquisitions of recent years to achieve what it called “a hybrid manufacturing/distribution model providing key benefits to its customers in high-growth end markets”. These include (bio)pharmaceuticals, vaccines, nutraceuticals, agriculture, cosmetics and speciality chemicals. The six are:

* A&C, a global GMP manufacturer of speciality excipients, buffers, process solutions and raw materials for biopharmaceuticals

Further buy for Aceto

Aceto has acquired A&C Bio Buffer, a GMP manufacturer of custom buffer and chemical blends for the manufacture of biopharmaceutical drug products. This follows the acquisition earlier this year of A&C, a US manufacturer of GMP speciality excipients and custom process systems that had owned the Irish facility until then.

Further pharma buys for Aceto

Speciality life science materials player Aceto has made two further acquisitions, both in the pharmaceutical field, in the form of Oregon-based Cascade Chemistry and Finar in India. Terms were not disclosed in either case.

These bring the total number of acquisitions the new-look firm has made to five in the past 15 months. “With each of our acquisitions, Aceto looks to add companies that enhance our business capabilities and support our growth strategy, while aligning with our core business values,” said CEO Gilles Cottier.

Aceto acquires Syntor

Aceto, which describes itself as a “virtual manufacturer of speciality materials” for life science, nutrition, agricultural and advanced technology applications, has acquired Syntor Fine Chemicals. Terms were not disclosed. Trumont International was the sell-side adviser to Syntor.
