Momentive opens Indian R&D centre
Facility serves both subsidiaries
Momentive’s two subsidiaries, Momentive Performance Materials and Momentive Speciality Chemicals, which are respectively active in silicones and advanced materials and in thermoset resins, have jointly opened a new global R&D centre and business headquarters for the India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) region in Bangalore, India.
Located on a site to the west of Electronic City, this will house about 100 employees, including research scientists working on new global technology platforms and product development for personal care, energy, healthcare, electronic, automotive, and construction applications, among others. The site will also house Momentive’s regional commercial, business support, business process and IT functions. The company has an existing Indian facility at Chennai.
