Merck KGaA opens China centre

New TANC offers expanded cosmetic pigment testing

Merck Chemicals China, the local subsidiary of Merck KGaA, has opened its Pigments & Cosmetics Technology Application Network China (TANC) in Shanghai. This is described as the evolution of the original Merck China Customer Support Centre, which began with just simple printing applications at Fudan University in 1998 and in 2008 moved to the Songjiang site, offering basic services for plastic, printing, coating and cosmetic applications.

The newly expanded TANC will be able to offer colour proposals based on powder coating technology as well as colour matching and analyses SPF testing in China, which is one of the fastest growing markets for pigments and cosmetics. Merck is the world’s largest maker of pearlescent pigments, including the Iriodin, Xirallic and Colorstream brands.
