IMCD acquires in Malaysia
Maxwell Pharma active in APIs and excipients
IMCD Group, the Netherlands-based speciality chemicals and food ingredients distributor, has acquired the pharmaceutical ingredients business of Maxwell Pharma, a family-owned Malaysian distributor of APIs and excipients. Maxwell will hencefortjh focus on its two other businesses of clinical studies and skin care.
Terms were not disclosed in the deal, which closed on 30 September. According to IMCD, its Pharmaceutical business group is Europe’s largest distributor of pharmaceutical ingredients. It supplies excipients, APIs, speciality solvents, process chemicals and intermediates, supporting development projects and work on standard formulations.
Separately, IMCD has announced a deal with AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry for the distribution of its surfactants in France, the UK and Ireland. These will go mainly into the fabric care, household and institutional cleaning, coatings, ceramics, textile and leather, construction and wood preservation markets.
