BASF: sales up 7% over prior-year quarter

Fake pesticides cost EU €1.3 billion per year

A new report from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) shows that 13.8% of legitimate revenues are lost each year due to counterfeiting of pesticides in the EU-28. It is estimated that the legitimate pesticides industry loses approximately €1.3 billion of revenue annually due to the presence of counterfeit pesticides in the EU marketplace. This corresponds to 13.8% of the sector’s sales.
