| Dow Corning opens Polish office | |
| 01 February 2010 Silicones giant Dow Corning has opened a new commercial office in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, following on from recent openings in Bahrain, Russia and Vietnam. By the end of the year, this office is expected to have up to ten sales and technical staff. The new office will mainly serve the construction, personal care, processing and general manufacturing industries as part of a network with other commercial offices in Istanbul and Moscow for both the Dow Corning and Xiameter brands. The company said it will seek collaboration opportunities in the wider Eastern European region, with customers, and with academic, government and other research. Dow Corning has been active in Poland since the 1970s. Chairman, president and CEO Dr. Stephanie A. Burns called Eastern Europe and Poland in particular “an attractive region with a resilient economy, skilled workforce and growing modern industry”.
