| Nalco opens Shanghai centre | |
| 14 December 2009 Nalco has formally opened a new Asia-Pacific regional centre for marketing, supply chain, technology development and training on Da Du He Road in Shanghai. The new building brings all of the key functions under one roof for the first time. This follows various previous expansions in China, including a new manufacturing plant that opened in the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park last year. Chairman and CEO Erik Fyrwald commented: “Our goal is to double our number of employees and double sales in China in the next five years, making it our second largest market behind only the US.” Of the 6,600 m2 of space, 1,000 m2 will be given over to a ‘Customer Experience & Training Centre’ that will train new sales engineers and offer customers seminars and training on industrial water and process treatment. Also included is a ‘Technology Demonstration Centre’ for the booming Asian paper industry, focusing on sensors, automation and industrial water treatment. | |
